Taken for Granted

Well we have been gone from home for 3 weeks now! WOW! We sure do miss everybody!! But living here in Florida for 3 weeks has made me realize that I take some things for granted! So here's my list:

The price of Milk - Here a gallon of milk at Winn-Dixie costs $4.59

My Dishwasher- I guess I should say the convenience of having my dishwasher next to my sink. Nanny's dishwasher is located behind you as you are rinsing off dishes at the sink.

A Garbage Disposal-what a small luxury!

Swiffer Wet Jet- I have been using the Clorox Ready Mop and it does not even compare! Oh how I miss that funny humming sound when I spray my Swiffer!

Target- I have not been Target shopping free now for over 3 weeks!!!! WOW~what an accomplishment. By the way the closest Target that I know of is about an hour away.

The price of Gas- Seriously stop laughing. Gas here averages about 30-40 cents more a gallon. When you see on the news what the national average is take that and add a few cents. Did I mention that whatever the Gas Station sign says is only if you pay cash or with their Credit card. I pulled into a BP the other day and the sign said $3.68...well that was only for BP credit cards everybody else $3.88.

The Fair- The Demolition Derby....The Fair Food...The Butter Cow Every year the kids and I go to the Ohio State Fair with Papa Roger to see the farm animals, the Butter Cow, and eat the yummy ice cream. I haven't had the heart to tell Drew we won't be seeing the Butter Cow. :( If you are wondering yes there is a Florida State fair:

Free Parks- I had heard once that the Ohio State Parks were going to start charging "admission". Well down here in the Ocala National Forest they do! $3.00/person Johnny Concrete told me that you can buy a yearly park pass and save a lot of money but my guess is that you probably need to be a resident.

Wind- My first few days here we hung Nanny and Papa's wind chimes. I have only heard it chime 3 times! Literally, only three chimes.

Well other than those things that I take for granted we are having a great time in Florida but there is no place like home. Also, please note that there are no friends or family on this list...I don't take them for granted!!!
